Applying Media theories 1

Define and explain  the following media  theories  , then apply them to one music video and one print/moving image  advert ( use two theories per media product).

 Your blog post should show that you understand the meaning of all the theories and their key terms  and how they could be put into practice in relation to audiences and their consumption of specific media products.

e.g  One of the signs used in this advert is a rose , and  its signification for the audience could be love and romance.

 e.g  if  the target audience used this advert to help form their personal identity,  as Gauntlett suggests, then the negative representations and aspirational imagery could have a serious  and possibly  negative effect on them.
